Really Doug??? They have over 200k orders on that Cybertruck now. I heard similar stuff from people when Tesla lauched the roadster for the first time

Sorry about the autopilot. Doug doesn't have a clue how Auto pilot systems develop. The other car manufacturers will take easily 10 years to catch up. I work on software and I know a bit about how AI works.

I think the Cybertruck is the ugliest car I’ve ever seen, so ugly that’s it’s actually attractive! And I just ordered one for my self. And I have never been a “Tesla-guy”. This car actually has a lot to offer in my point of view. It’s very fast (I ordered the version with the longest range), you have a lot of space and storage, it has a very low price with a starting price about the same as model 3. Where I live I would be able to charge it in my own garage at home at almost no cost! So I will get a car that’s very very fast, very fun, plenty of room for 6 persons, a lot of storage space, 4 wheel drive and a crazy look - what more can you ask for?

Dear Doug, I disagree. I think you are not considering many of the important details on this vehicle. It feels like you don't know the uses of a pick-up truck. Loved your model 3 review. Keep up the good work.

Its just a hype machine lol, people only talk about this cyber truck since before it was even shown. Im pretty sure they know that they will take a hit on this one, but its all about the fact that every conversation is about this thing. They will sell a few of them, but the generated hype will add even more to the tesla brand name in the future. So all in all its probably not about the amount they will sell and more about all the media coverage they are getting.

I'm watching a guy talk about Heavy Duty pickup trucks while he's wearing a House Of Cupcakes shirt. :-)

Meanwhile Porsche just got the EPA rating for their Taycan Turbo, 201 miles but this “expert” calls a pickup truck with 500 miles of range at less than half the price as being too expensive with not enough range. Is there any common sense left?

This thing can run 15 mi/day on solar and go off the grid, and run for 100 yrs without breaking. It's the perfect truck for a sci-fi zombie apocalypse movie. The pretty trucks can pull 14,000 lbs a couple of times too before something important breaks, which make them go VROOM, VROOM on good days! And that's the end of that movie. Very short, very sad. Or maybe the gas station closed. THE END

People comparing the stats of the high end truck to base F150s like no stop! Tesla needs to do a fair comparison video. I can’t wait till Ford gets their hands on it and makes a video

What's the total range while towing at max capacity?

May I disagree, with the following arguments:
1. You are talking about truck cusomers, but completly ignore the all other drivers. I never owned a truck, but I will buy a Cybertruck.
2. One of the most polarising cars ever. You love lt or you hate it, but you cannot IGNORE IT
3. If you look again at this Toy but not thinking of it as a truck, but as a 40.000$ bulletproof, 6,5s fast crazy looking thing like it got out of a CyberPunk game and looks like no other....oooh boy...
4. How can you love the Vector but hate the Cybertruck?

I always thought that the F-150 was lacking bulletproof doors and something to prevent me from just putting stuff in the bed.

Spot on opinion, in my opinion! 100%. Good comparisons and general overview in where it stands in valuation. Simone Giertz did a much better version of a Tesla Truck!

I drew one of these pick-up trucks over 48 years ago with my WH Smith set square set. Tesla has made some quite amazing cars over the past few years, but is not it. The drawing I did ended up in the back of a London Borough of Enfield SD dustbin van a couple of days later.

Just a thought, why would need to have a sub 3 second 0 to 60mph? Which roads are going to do that kind of speed on?

Here in Brazil people pay a lot for a pickup truck, like the top line Toyota Hilux costs about 200k Reais here (50k USD) and people can aford it. I imagine since we gain less per month in our currency than you in us dollar (without currency conversion), sounds like 70k US Dollars is cheap for an exclusive badass motherfucker electric Cybertruck. What I didn't know is that you have to pay 8k usd for the self-drive app, I found this expensive.

You failed to mention that a typical Southern Calf. driver will save an average of about $19,000.00 in fuel cost over a 5 year period compared to a comparable Ford F150. Even more in a places that gets its electricity from Hydro power like the Seattle area. This knocks that $70,000. price tag back down to around the level of the competition.
Don't believe me? do the math....

Cybertruck is made in such way so it can be cheap to make, safe in a crash because triangles are strong and by the way tesla makes the 3 safest cars in the world. Plus it's electric, no more pollution, like snoop dog said, Go green, except, not that kind of green, I meant ecology, because eventhough I like me some Apollo IE or pagani zonda R exhaust notes, im still for electric cars.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Cypertruck is different and cool. To call it ugly is an overstatement. I think if it comes in matte black it would look like something batman would own. It is badass!!! I do agree pricing should be lower to be more competitive with other light duty truck on the market.
